Job Summary
Sr Clinical Research Assistant at Brown University Health (Bradley Hospital, RI) conducts scientific investigative research related to research participant care. Responsibilities include designing experimental protocols with the investigator, developing methodologies, establishing and maintaining study records, interviewing participants and/or families to explain the study, obtaining informed consent, scheduling visits, monitoring protocol adherence, collecting and organizing participant data, creating and maintaining study databases, performing statistical analyses, and generating graphs/charts. The role may involve PSG and vital signs during monitoring tests, saliva/blood spinning and shipment of tissue samples, and assisting in writing presentations and papers for publication. Supervisory duties include providing guidance to junior research staff. Minimum qualifications require a Bachelor’s degree in Applied or Life Sciences (sleep research a plus) and 2–3 years of related experience; proficiency in statistics, computer programming, and research methodology; location is Bradley Hospital, East Providence, RI; full-time, day shift. Pay range: $48,068.80–$79,372.80 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Applied or Life Sciences or related area, including courses in research methodologies and microcomputer systems
- Experience in sleep research a plus
- Two to three years progressively more responsible and related experience in the research field
- Experience should demonstrate effective working knowledge of statistics, computer programming and research methodology and an in-depth knowledge of the scientific field in which research is being conducted
- supervisory responsibility: Provides functional training and guidance to subordinate research staff assigned to the project
