Job Summary
Senior-level Clinical Project Manager role responsible for owning end-to-end project strategy and execution in ophthalmology or cell & gene therapy. Lead cross-functional teams, manage scope, timelines, risk, and budget, and maintain contractual commitments. Drive client relationships, present project updates, develop data-driven strategies, oversee governance and change control, forecast revenue and manage costs, and mentor team members. Remote-based role with in-office considerations and up to 30% travel; strong emphasis on patient-centric delivery, regulatory compliance (ICH/GCP), and delivering high-performing teams in a matrixed, multi-cultural environment.
Required Qualifications
- University/college degree (life science preferred) or certification in a related allied health profession (nursing, medical or laboratory technology)
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant clinical research experience in a pharmaceutical company/CRO
- 3 years on clinical project management experience within a CRO or pharma
- Strong ophthalmology experience
- Experience in Project Management of the End-to-End Clinical Trial Lifecycle or Project Management of large-scale Projects in other industries
- Working knowledge of ICH Guidelines and GCP including international regulatory requirements for the conduct of clinical development programs
- Advanced computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Access, and Power Point)
- Experience managing projects in a matrix and virtual environment
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example and to encourage team members to seek solutions independently
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities and to utilize resources effectively
- Demonstrated ability to inspire effective teamwork and motivate staff within a matrix system
- Financial awareness and ability to actively utilize financial tracking systems
- Ability to work independently and mentor junior project team members
- Ability to negotiate and liaise with clients in a professional manner
- Ability to present to staff at all levels
- PMP certification (preferred)
- Master’s or other advanced degree (preferred)
- Proven experience managing global clinical trials across multiple regions
- Cross-functional and cross-cultural considerations
