Job Summary
Interpret, prepare, and verify medication orders while providing clinical consultation and cost-effective alternatives. Monitor drug therapies for interactions, allergies, and appropriateness, reporting adverse drug reactions promptly. Issue controlled substances in compliance with DEA and VA Board of Pharmacy requirements. Participate in decentralized rounding, respond to emergent bedside alerts, and support learners through precepting. Lead educational initiatives, spearhead grant submissions, and drive quality improvement within the Bispecific T-Cell Engager (BiTE) therapy program. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance treatment planning and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in pharmacy (PharmD)
- Five (5) years of clinical oncology experience
- Licensed Pharmacist in the state of VA
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for Critical Care and Emergency Medicine
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Full-time rotating shift: Monday - Friday
Desired Qualifications
- PGY1/PGY2 Oncology residency
- Solid Tumors malignant hematology experience
- Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP)or certification obtained within two (2) years of employment
- Precepting experience
