Job Summary
Document claims files by accurately capturing and updating claims data for moderate to high exposure multi-party commercial line workers' compensation cases. Exercise judgment to determine liability, policy verification, and coverage determinations by analyzing facts and applicable law. Develop case strategies to achieve timely resolutions, establish reserves within authority limits, and negotiate settlements using available tools. Assess damages by calculating amounts allowed by law and adhere to quality standards through best practices. Requires a valid adjuster license, Bachelor's degree or JD, and 6+ years of experience in claims or litigation management. Hybrid schedule available from Parsippany, Boston, or designated virtual offices across multiple states. Salary range $75,800–$124,100 with 15% short-term incentive bonus eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Juris Doctor
- Associate Degree
- High School Diploma Equivalent
- 6 or more years of experience in the Claims and/ or Litigation Management area
- 2 or more years of experience in the Claims and/ or Litigation Management area
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice
- Completion of Zurich Claims Training Program
- Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)
- Microsoft Office experience
- Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets and products
Desired Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in the Workers Compensation line of business
- 6+ years of experience handling litigation management
- Specializing in some combination of the following jurisdictions of NJ, NY, PA, VA, DC or DE
- EDI filing requirements
- MSA/Medicare knowledge
- WCCA, WCCP Designations
- Knowledge and skill of claims handling
- Negotiation experience
- Experience in line of business
- Excellent communication skills
- Analytical skills
