Job Summary
Senior Civil Engineer at Schmidt Associates to lead site development civil design (grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater) across multiple project types; serve as technical leader and mentor within the civil engineering team; coordinate with architects, landscape architects, MEPTC engineers, and external consultants; manage multiple projects with regard to quality, budgets, and deadlines; prepare construction documents, specifications, calculations, reports, permitting submissions, and cost estimates; provide guidance to junior staff, participate in client meetings and project planning; review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals; ensure compliance with regulations and permitting requirements; contribute to office standards and business development; requires PE license or ability to obtain quickly; AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency; Revit a plus; 8+ years of experience; Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; strong leadership and mentorship skills; locations include Indianapolis, IN and Louisville, KY.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain licensure quickly
- 8+ years of related civil engineering experience preferred
- Strong experience with site development, grading, drainage, utility, and stormwater design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D required; Revit experience is a plus
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and mentoring staff
- Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills
- Familiarity with permitting processes and applicable codes/regulations
- Desire to contribute to a collaborative, servant leadership culture
