Job Summary

Load components into product-specific tools and operate laser systems to process and fabricate catheters. Perform pre/post-weld assembly, part cleaning, and workstation setups while adjusting machines to meet specifications. Conduct in-process visual and dimensional inspections using microscopes, gauges, and micrometers to ensure conformance with drawings and work instructions. Troubleshoot complex operations, document development activities in lab notebooks, and provide training to lower-level operators. Recognize quality issues, communicate findings to supervision, and assist Quality Control as required. Act as a resource during audits and provide input to Engineering on tool design and troubleshooting processes.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 3 years'experience working with catheters in the medical device industry and manufacturing
  • Be able to read, write and speak fluent English
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Reliable, consistent, and punctual attendance
  • Ability to work in an environment subject to fluctuations in heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust, and noise
  • Capable in providing detailed information to assist sustaining engineering in determining root cause in order to identify the appropriate corrective action
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in setting up and operating workstations
  • Moderate computer skills, including the MS Office suite
  • Must be able to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications & illustrations
  • Strong analytical skills and must have the ability to obtain secondary research information from the Internet or alternate sources
  • Ability to learn and apply new technology
  • Strong understanding of performing visual and dimensional inspections

Desired Qualifications

  • Understanding of ISO & FDA requirements a plus
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing a plus
