Job Summary
Senior Category Manager leads the development and execution of innovative category strategies that align with the company’s vision and accelerate long-term growth. Requires deep expertise in category lifecycle planning, financial oversight, supplier negotiations, and cross-functional leadership. Defines category strategy based on industry, competitor, and consumer trends; translates strategic vision into day-to-day operational goals; mentors teams to deliver results; oversees budgeting, planning, and risk management; and drives value through data analytics, ERP tools, and strategic sourcing. The role blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution to optimize multiple product categories and partner relationships while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. Hybrid work arrangement is based at the Raleigh, NC headquarters with four days in office and one day remote.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in category management, merchandising, or strategic sourcing
- Proven track record of managing complex category portfolios and leading strategic initiatives
- Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis experience
- Advanced negotiation skills with experience managing top-tier supplier relationships
- Proficiency in category management tools, ERP systems, and data analytics platforms
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and coaching abilities
