Sr. CAM Engineer, PCB (STARLINK)

Job Summary
Review and analyze PCB designs to convert files into production-ready outputs, performing netlist extraction and comparing data accuracy. Execute comprehensive Design Rule Checks (DRC) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to identify issues, then create efficient panel layouts that maximize material usage. Develop and maintain CAM automation scripts and post processors to streamline workflows. Ensure all outputs comply with design specifications and IPC industry standards while maintaining strict revision and change control. Work cross-functionally to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement rapid design improvements. This role supports the production of millions of next-generation Starlink consumer devices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline
- 5+ years of PCB CAM & manufacturing experience
- Willingness to travel to other SpaceX sites and/or vendors for potentially extended periods of time including international
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted
- Willing to work onsite; remote work is not considered
- U.S. citizen or national
- U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder)
- Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157
- Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158
- Eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Ability to solve complex problems utilizing engineering first principles with minimal supervision on tight schedules
- Strong Interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- CAM software proficiency with industry standards
- CNC programming experience
- Knowledge of IPC manufacturing standards
- Experience diagnosing PCB failure modes and root cause analysis
- Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing of stack up analysis
- Experience with taking products from research and development into production.
