Sr. Calibration Technician

Job Summary

Conduct independent calibration, troubleshooting, and adjustment of high-level equipment across eight disciplines with expertise in three. Perform RF and electrical calibrations onsite at customer locations or within the lab with minimal supervision. Coordinate daily workloads, manage schedules, and prepare detailed analysis of calibration processes and uncertainties. Train and advise lower-level technicians while developing process improvements to maintain Transcat's quality policy. Fulfill duties safely under conditions involving electrical shock risks and moving mechanical parts, with up to 50% travel required.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree from college or technical school
  • Six+ (6+) years related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Acceptable driver history
  • 3+ years driving experience
  • Successful completion of assigned training materials through on-the-job training, online content, LMS, and classroom led instruction
  • Elite interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-motivated learner with the ability to learn new skills related to calibration and calibration processes
  • Ability to take direction and learn from feedback
  • Ability to communicate well with supervisor, solve problems effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Travel requirement: up to 50% of work schedule

Desired Qualifications

  • Senior Calibration Technician is the highest-level technician position within Transcat with a minimum of six (6) years commercial calibration experience preferred
  • CCT or CMT certification
  • Extensive statistical background
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics
  • Proficiency and expertise in three (3) disciplines (e.g., Electrical, Dimensional, or Pressure)
  • RF calibration experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge and competency in eight (8) disciplines
