Job Summary

Senior BI Developer leads design, development, and optimization of enterprise Power BI-based analytics solutions, partnering with business stakeholders to define metrics and analytical requirements, build scalable semantic models, implement governance and performance practices, and deliver dashboards and reports with robust data validation. Responsibilities include collaborating with users and technical partners to refine analytical requirements, diagnosing data quality and performance issues, designing reusable report templates and JSON themes, maintaining semantic models for performance and security, troubleshooting refresh and relationship issues, and supporting governance, deployment pipelines, security models, and release management within Azure Data Factory and related Azure data services. Requires strong Power BI expertise, extensive SQL and data modeling skills, and experience delivering enterprise BI initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or Information Systems
  • 8–12 years of overall BI and analytics development experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience delivering enterprise solutions using Microsoft Power BI
  • Strong dimensional modeling and semantic layer design expertise
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, relational databases and SQL for complex data analysis
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service including advanced DAX, data modeling, performance tuning, security implementation, and change tracking
  • Experience with report tuning, model compression, cardinality management, and star schema optimization
  • Knowledge of Row-Level Security (RLS), Object-Level Security (OLS), data sensitivity, and UI/UX design principles
  • Understanding of Power BI Service administration, refresh architecture, gateways, and licensing/capacity models
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver multiple, complex BI initiatives on time
  • Power BI, SQL, Excel, Data modeling, and data warehousing
