Job Summary
Senior Business Analyst for Chariot Energy Houston, reporting to support data-driven decision-making across Operations, Finance, Customer Care and Risk Management. Transforms data from multiple enterprise systems into actionable insights to improve billing accuracy, AR health, credit-risk monitoring, renewal retention, and fraud mitigation. Develops and maintains Power BI dashboards, extracts/transforms from Titanium, CRM, payment processors using SQL and Python, and designs automated reporting pipelines. Defines KPIs such as billing accuracy, AR aging, deposit trends, renewal/conversion, churn, fraud trends, and variance reporting for pre/post cutover. Partners with Customer Care, Credit/Collections, Billing, Finance, and Sales to identify performance gaps and opportunities for improvement; supports forecasting, budget variance, and revenue/margin analysis. Establishes data governance standards, enhances Titanium data extraction, documents data models, and implements automated ETL processes. Presents findings to senior leadership and ensures regulatory/compliance reporting per ERCOT, PJM, NYISO and NEPOOL; must be eligible to work in the USA without sponsorship. Onsite role based in Houston with commutable distance to the Chariot Energy Houston office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or Information Systems
- Minimum 5 – 7 years of analytics or business intelligence experience or financial operations in retail energy
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, custom visuals, and drill-through design)
- Expert-level knowledge of SQL with ability to write complex queries across large data sets
- Experience with Python for data transformation, automation, or anomaly detection (preferred)
- Familiarity with Git or version-control tools (preferred)
- Strong command of Excel for data analysis and ad-hoc reporting
- Ability to translate data into insights that drive improvements in billing accuracy, credit-risk control, customer retention, and fraud reduction
- Experience in the deregulated energy market, ERCOT, PJM, NYISO and NEPOOL
- Eligible to work in the USA for any employer without sponsorship
