Sr. Bookkeeper (w/ QUICKBOOKS experience - MUST HAVE)

Job Summary
Manage end-to-end bookkeeping functions for multiple clients using QuickBooks Online and Desktop, including the monthly close cycle, general ledger reconciliation, and journal entries for assets, liabilities, revenues, expenses, and payroll. Process transactions through ADP and Gusto, manually review complex files, and ensure accurate classification while maintaining a paperless workflow. Identify discrepancies in financial reports, flag potential issues, and recommend corrective actions. Review initial work prepared by junior bookkeepers to support consistency and accuracy across client books without direct people management. Apply US accounting standards and best practices to improve team review habits and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Proven bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong focus on Excel and Word
- Strong working experience of bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to review financial records and identify errors, discrepancies, or potential red flags
- Ability to learn new software quickly
- Demonstrated expertise in leveraging technology for a paperless work environment
- Understanding of organizational effectiveness and operations management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- Degree in Accounting, Business, Operations Management, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, with a solid understanding of accounting principles
- Minimum 5 years of experience with QuickBooks and general accounting practices
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting multiple clients or working in an accounting/bookkeeping firm environment is a strong advantage
