Job Summary
Provide on-site design engineering support for high voltage battery assemblies and components in Normal, Illinois, covering launch, start of production, and serial production phases. Collaborate with manufacturing, process, and quality teams to resolve issues related to manufacturing ramp, production yield, and scrap. Drive resolution of design-oriented production line issues using problem-solving techniques, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Lead DFMEA change efforts, prepare rework plans, and coordinate builds for prototype and pilot activities. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities focusing on cost reduction, cycle time, and quality enhancements. Communicate lessons learned from serial production to product development teams to prevent recurrence.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of work experience in battery/automotive/aerospace/related industries
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- Mechanical engineering experience
- Previous experience with product launches, production schedules, and release engineering
- Experience with CAD design
- Experience with GD&T
- Experience with PLM interface
- Strong communication skills
