Sr. Backend Engineer (.NET Core)

Job Summary
Lead .NET Core microservices architecture and backend build quality for the platform, directing a pod of offshore engineers through code reviews and work assignment. Design Azure SQL transactional cache schemas, implement REST API endpoints via Azure API Management, and route commit actions through Azure Service Bus to ERP systems. Enforce business logic, data validation, and error handling standards while owning CI/CD pipeline compliance with Veracode SAST scanning. Conduct bi-weekly sprint demos, triage defects during SIT and UAT, and perform knowledge transfer to the client team. This full-time W2 remote role includes bi-weekly client office commutes in Falls Church, VA, and is structured as an initial 9-month engagement.
Required Qualifications
- 6–8 years of back-end development experience
- at least 4 years focused in .NET Core / C#
- Demonstrable experience leading or directing offshore back-end engineering teams
- Strong experience designing and building REST APIs exposed through an API gateway
- Azure APIM
- Proficiency with Azure SQL
