Job Summary
Sr. Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale core platform services that ingest, process, and route security events across CrowdStrike products. Lead architecture for the Detection Content Management Platform (DCMP/CMS), enable advanced CI/CD/DevOps tooling, and develop highly scalable microservices using Go (with Kubernetes, Flink, Cassandra/OpenSearch/Postgres/Redis). Mentor mid-level and senior engineers, collaborate with Product Management and other teams to translate strategy into executable roadmaps, and contribute to cross-cutting features like Policy, Flight Control, and Observability to ensure platform stability and operational excellence. This hybrid role is based in NYC with in-office visits twice weekly and opportunities to work across security-event processing, data ingestion, and real-time detection workflows.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on large-scale distributed systems
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (Go preferred)
- Experience architecting and delivering highly available, scalable platform services in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Experience with data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Flink) and distributed computing concepts
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity or SIEM principles; content/rule authoring lifecycles a plus
- Experience in a Staff-level role, driving multi-quarter initiatives and influencing technical direction across teams
