Job Summary
Senior Automation Engineer at Javlyn Process Systems to lead full project lifecycle from design through commissioning for automation & controls in food/dairy/beverage industries. Responsibilities include developing control system architectures, designing control panels and electrical schematics in AutoCAD, specifying components, preparing system documentation, developing PLC I/O, programming PLCs with Allen-Bradley Logix (500/5000), developing HMI applications (Rockwell FactoryTalk View, AVEVA Wonderware, GE iFix, or Ignition), supporting clients on new and existing systems (remote and on-site), designing industrial networks, developing applications using VB.NET and SQL, participating in commissioning and startup activities, and training client operations/maintenance personnel. Travel 20–25% within the U.S. Requires 10+ years’ experience in related industries, Bachelor’s in electrical engineering or related discipline, PLC/HMI programming, AutoCAD, and strong communication and teamwork abilities. Location: Rochester, NY area (on-site). Design emphasis on automation for process systems in food/beverage sectors, leadership and mentoring of junior engineers, and client-facing project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline preferred
- 10+ years’ experience programming industrial control systems in food, dairy, or beverage industries preferred
- PLC and HMI programming (required)
- AutoCAD (required)
- Industrial networking concepts
- VB.NET, SQL (preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
