Job Summary
Conduct trauma-informed direct legal representation for individuals before USCIS, EOIR, the BIA, and state courts, including consultations, case screening, application preparation, filing, and follow-up. Supervise and mentor staff attorneys, DOJ accredited representatives, and legal fellows while leading day-to-day supervision of the legal team. Maintain accurate case files and manage grant-funded metrics to support compliance and reporting requirements. Lead internal trainings, case-review protocols, and quality assurance practices. Collaborate with the Program Director to assess workload, create staff development processes, and address performance deficiencies. Deliver community consultations, citizenship workshops, and know-your-rights presentations to assess eligibility and advise neighbors. Ensure fluency in English and Spanish to effectively serve clients and colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA accredited law school
- 3+ Years experience in substantive immigration law including direct representation in complex humanitarian relief and/or removal defense
- Experience in supervising, training, or mentoring attorneys, DOJ accredited representatives, or law students
- License to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- License must be active and in good standing
