Job Summary
Assign Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN) for drug products, raw materials, chemicals, and business materials. Review shipping documentation and customs invoices for accuracy, including valuation, commodity classification, and country of origin. Submit Electronic Export Information (EEI) filings via AES and perform Sanctioned Party List Screening using SAP-Global Trade Services. Facilitate communication to ensure compliance with legal and customs requirements for internal and external stakeholders, and support audits and onsite inspections as needed. This contingent role offers 12-month contract flexibility with preference for Thousand Oaks, CA or Pacific/Mountain time zones.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in trade compliance and harmonized tariff classification
- Strong understanding of shipping documentation, customs valuation, and country of origin determination
- Effective communicator capable of conducting and facilitating meetings
- Ability to explain legal and customs requirements to diverse stakeholders
- Master's degree
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience
- Associate's degree and 6 years of experience
- High school diploma / GED and 8 years of experience
Desired Qualifications
- U.S. Licensed Customs Broker
- Understanding of International Customs and World Trade Organization regulations
- Knowledge of import/export processes in non-US countries
- Cross-functional, cross-regional partnership experience
- Excellent oral and written communication, facilitation, collaboration, and executive presentation skills
