Job Summary
Senior Associate Director, Software Engineering role at HSBC focused on HarmonyOS mobile development. Leads design, build, and maintenance of HarmonyOS applications, integrates backend services and APIs, and drives engineering governance, performance optimization, secure coding practices, and release readiness. Collaborates with product, design, QA, security, and backend teams to deliver feature-rich mobile experiences, maintain documentation, and stay current with HarmonyOS ecosystem changes. Requires proven Android/iOS development experience with HarmonyOS, proficiency in TypeScript/ArkTS/ArkUI, distributed cross-device development, and experience in regulated environments (banking/payments/insurance).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional Android or iOS development experience, with at least 1 year of HarmonyOS development experience
- Mastery of TypeScript/ArkTS, ArkWeb and the ArkUI declarative framework
- Experience with distributed & cross-device development (HarmonyOS)
- Proficiency with Node-API or similar mechanisms to integrate native code with ArkTS
- Experience with cloud services and APIs integration
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins)
- Experience delivering apps in regulated environments (banking/payments/insurance) is highly desirable
