Job Summary
Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize commercial lease agreements for office, retail, and other commercial properties. Represent landlords and tenants in lease negotiations while mitigating legal and financial risks. Support acquisitions, sales, and financing transactions by reviewing existing leases and evaluating tenant-related risks. Provide strategic legal guidance to developers, property owners, and corporate tenants throughout all phases of commercial leasing. This role requires a Juris Doctor and New York bar admission with 10+ years of real estate practice experience. Compensation ranges from $200k to $315k. The position is hybrid with three mandatory on-site days per week, including Monday, in the New York office.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in New York
- 10 plus years of real estate practice experience
- strong background in lease negotiations
- Excellent legal research, analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in legal research and case management software
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must be able to sit continually
- Must be able to stand occasionally
- Must be able to walk occasionally
- Must be able to utilize hand and finger dexterity
- Must be able to talk and hear
- Must be available for a hybrid position with 3 days onsite (Monday is a mandatory onsite day) in New York
