Job Summary
Budget coordinator role supporting OPEX budgeting for USBO brands in Amgen's GCO Finance, performing monthly/quarterly close, variance analysis, and reporting. Collaborates with global and regional teams to deliver insights, maintains financial master data across cost centers, WBS, and project codes, leads quarter-close/consolidation activities, and contributes to standardization/automation initiatives. Requires advanced Excel and financial systems (SAP, Hyperion, Ariba, Anaplan, PowerBI, Tableau); on-site in Thousand Oaks, CA 2-3 days/week; Master’s degree or Bachelor’s with experience (or equivalent) in Finance; strong communication and cross-time-zone collaboration skills.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of Finance experience OR Associate’s degree and 6 years of Finance experience OR High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Finance experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting principles
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SAP, Hyperion, Ariba, Anaplan, PowerBI, and Tableau preferred
- Experience in process improvement or automation initiatives is a plus
- Ability to work effectively across time zones and in a virtual team environment
- Soft skills: communication, interpersonal skills, collaboration in a matrixed organization
