Job Summary
Senior Sr. Applications Engineer - Mechanical role focused on mechanical engineering work for power generation equipment integration, project design and development, system requirements with clients, ventilation and piping design, evaluation of vendor proposals, and liaison between sales, engineering, project management, and vendors. Responsibilities include ensuring design compliance with codes and standards, preparing calculations and drawings, reviewing MTU/RR specifications and vendor proposals, leading bid leveling, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering presentations to management and site teams. Key skills include understanding reciprocating engines used in genset applications, P&ID diagrams and manufacturing drawings, CAD/CAD-like tools (Creo, BIM360, Windchill), ERP systems (SAP), control systems, and strong communication and project-management abilities. Travel up to 30% and a commitment to Rolls-Royce quality standards and equal opportunity employment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years of mechanical engineering experience with design, field service, application, sales or manufacturing engineering; or 9 years of mechanical engineering experience with design, field service, application, sales or manufacturing engineering
- Willingness to travel for business trips up to 30%
- Professional Engineer license (PE)
- OSHA30 certificate (or ability to complete online training within 60 days of start)
