Job Summary
Design and develop deployable reflectarray antennas for spaceborne SAR payloads, managing the full lifecycle from concept through flight hardware. Optimize the Horn antenna feed system and characterize feed-to-aperture illumination using full-wave and physical-optics modeling. Collaborate with mechanical and structures teams on folding architecture, stowed/deployed envelopes, and surface accuracy requirements. Analyze key performance metrics including gain, beamwidth, sidelobe levels, and cross-polarization while controlling sensitivity to deployment repeatability and thermal distortion. Plan and execute near-field/far-field measurement campaigns to verify deployed performance, and evaluate vendors for antenna fabrication and RF hardware. Requires 4–6 years of EM/antenna design experience, ANSYS HFSS proficiency, and a solid grasp of reflectarray theory.
Required Qualifications
- 4–6 years of experience in EM/antenna design
- hands-on reflectarray, phased-array, or aperture-antenna work
- Working knowledge of ANSYS HFSS
- Solid grasp of reflectarray theory
- Familiarity with deployable/large-aperture antenna concepts
- Understanding of SAR antenna requirements
- Hands-on experience with RF lab instrumentation and antenna measurement
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with TICRA Tools (GRASP / QUPES / ESTEEM) for reflectarray and reflector analysis
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
