Job Summary
Senior Analytics Engineer to join Total Wine & More's Data Services team in Bethesda, MD. Build scalable, well-documented data models using dbt; translate business logic into clean data transformations; own semantic layers and data marts to power dashboards and KPIs; ensure data quality and governance across domains; collaborate with data platform teams and stakeholders; contribute to documentation and data literacy across the organization. Requires Bachelor's (or equivalent) and preferably Master's in a quantitative field; 3-6 years in analytics engineering or BI; expert SQL and dbt/Snowflake/BigQuery experience; familiarity with Git, CI/CD, data testing, dimensional modeling, ETL/ELT, and visualization tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related fields required or equivalent years of experience
- Master's degree preferred or equivalent years of experience
- 3-6 years experience in analytics engineering, data modeling, or BI development
- Expert-level SQL skills and strong experience with dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar tools
- Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and data testing frameworks (dbt tests, Great Expectations)
- Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT best practices
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Exposure to data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
