Job Summary
Sr Analyst, Transactions and Contracts based in Houston, TX supporting legal functions within Pilot Energy. Responsibilities include negotiation and redlines of over the road, supply, transportation, operating, terminal, non-disclosure, and government bid agreements, as well as drafting and negotiating customer, vendor, supplier, and subcontractor contracts. Lead ad hoc projects for legal, provide oversight and guidance to analysts, engage internal stakeholders across Business Development, Legal, Credit, Operations, and Compliance, conduct regulatory and legal research (e.g., tax credits, bids), participate in development of form agreements and contract playbooks, and ensure contract lifecycle processes and compliance. The role requires strong contract knowledge in the energy industry, excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal sponsorship requirements.
Required Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university
- A Juris Doctor (JD) or Master's in business administration, finance or related field, preferred
- Minimum four years' prior experience in a legal department preferred
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of general business, corporate, and contract law
- Understanding of contract terminology, potential contract risk, and energy industry contract administration is required
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft contract language
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Proven ability to prioritize, execute tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proven track record providing excellent customer service and working as part of a team
- Ability to resolve issues with a high sense of urgency
