Sr Analyst, Trading Risk

Job Summary
Sr Analyst, Trading Risk role in Houston, TX supporting the daily operations of the commodities trading desk. Responsibilities include trade capture, validation and processing of trades across instruments (physical, futures, options, swaps); daily reconciliation of front/middle office activity; monitoring and reporting of market, credit, and operational risk; P&L attribution and position reporting; and driving process improvements. Collaborates with front office traders, risk management, finance, accounting, IT, brokers, and clearing houses; ensures regulatory compliance with Dodd-Frank and EMIR. Requires a Bachelor's degree in finance and 2-3 years of energy trading experience; strong knowledge of energy/commodities markets and trading instruments; proficiency in trade capture/validation systems and Excel; familiarity with RightAngle, PDI, AS400 is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance required
- Minimum 2-3 years energy trading experience required
- Strong understanding of commodities markets (e.g., energy, metals, agriculture) and trading instruments (e.g., physical, futures, options, swaps)
- Proficiency in trade capture, validation, and processing systems
- Knowledge of risk management principles and methodologies
- Experience with P&L attribution and position reporting
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., Dodd-Frank, EMIR)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with trading/risk management systems (e.g., RightAngle, PDI, AS400) is a plus
