Job Summary
Perform air conditioning and refrigeration preventive/corrective maintenance, service call work, and new construction installations for the PMRF project. Recover and recycle freon in accordance with federal regulations while maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting HVAC systems, chill water systems, and air ducts. Solder, braze, adjust mechanical and electronic controls, and prepare work order documents and reports. Provide guidance and training to lower seniority employees while ensuring all tasks comply with federal, state, and local codes. Requires EPA Universal Certification, a minimum of eight years of progressive HVAC experience, and a Secret US Government Clearance. Located in Kauai, HI, with an hourly rate of $45.23.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of eight years of progressive work experience in the specified field
- A minimum of four years of experience at the Senior or equivalent level
- EPA Universal Certification
- Hawaii State Drivers License
- Experience in troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing direct expansion, chill water systems, split and package type systems, window units, small appliances, and mobile units
- Experience in soldering, brazing, use of recovery and recycling equipment, adjustment of mechanical, pneumatic and electronic controls
- Experience in air duct repair, modification and installation
- Capability to perform functions in accordance with federal regulation section 608 of the Clean Air Act
- EPA Universal certificate (for recovery of refrigerants from building systems)
- Certificate from an EPA accredited mobile unit organization
- Demonstration of theoretical and practical dexterity in the trade
- Ability to obtain a government operator's license to operate light trucks, stake trucks and forklifts (10-ton)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance
- US Citizenship
- 2 Year Technical School or equivalent training such as Navy 'A' school or recognized correspondence
