Job Summary
Sr. AI Engineer role focusing on designing, building, and deploying scalable ML infrastructure powering Sezzle's marketplace features. Lead development of AI-driven capabilities for personalized recommendations, fraud detection, and credit risk assessment using AWS (SageMaker) and open-source tools. Responsibilities include ML lifecycle automation (MLOps), monitoring/alerting, production support (on-call rotations), and collaboration with product teams to deliver MVPs, with emphasis on scalability, reliability, and cross-departmental AI enablement. Requires 6+ years in ML engineering, Python proficiency (Golang a plus), and a strong track record of deploying production ML solutions; familiarity with relational databases, data warehouses, SQL, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and monitoring tooling is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, Statistics, Physics, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Demonstrated experience with Claude or equivalent large language model tools
- At least 6+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with production deployments
- Proficiency with Python; Golang a plus
- Ability to design, build, and scale ML infrastructure on AWS (Sagemaker experience preferred)
- Strong ability to mentor and lead teams and collaborate across functions
