Job Summary
Develop AI-powered applications, agents, and automation to improve software development workflows and integrate intelligent testing solutions into CI/CD pipelines. Design, implement, and support AI-assisted developer tools using technologies such as Claude Code and AWS Bedrock while evaluating emerging AI technologies to enhance engineering productivity. Build scalable services, APIs, and platform components that support engineering teams across the organization, partnering with Software Engineering, QA, and DevOps to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement. Monitor solution performance and continuously optimize AI systems for reliability, accuracy, and scalability. This hands-on role requires 4–7+ years of software engineering experience and is located in San Diego, CA, with an annual salary range of $120,000–$165,000.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 4–7+ years of software engineering experience, depending on level
- Strong Python development experience
- Experience building applications using Large Language Models (LLMs), generative AI, or agentic AI workflows
- Experience with AI platforms such as AWS Bedrock, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or similar technologies
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications on AWS
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright or similar tools
- Understanding of prompt engineering, LLM evaluation, regression testing, and AI system monitoring
- Applicants must have current and ongoing authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Java and/or C# experience preferred
- Experience developing internal engineering tools or developer platforms is a plus
- Experience with RAG, vector databases, or AI knowledge management technologies is preferred
- Healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industry experience is beneficial but not required
- A builder's mindset with a passion for experimenting, rapidly prototyping, and turning innovative AI concepts into scalable production solutions
- Strong technical judgment to evaluate emerging technologies, prioritize high-impact opportunities, and make practical, data-driven decisions
- The ability to influence through expertise, partnering effectively across Engineering, QA, and DevOps to drive adoption of new tools and practices
- A continuous learning mentality, staying at the forefront of AI-assisted software development and applying new capabilities to improve engineering productivity
