Job Summary
Senior Advanced Process Engineer (Extrusion) provides technical leadership for extrusion processing across Cooper Standard manufacturing facilities, driving standardization and continuous improvement of extrusion processes to improve production performance, quality, energy efficiency, and cost optimization. Responsible for development and maintenance of global extrusion standards, equipment and tooling specifications, and process parameters; implements best practices; collaborates with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, Finance, Purchasing, and Program Management to support capacity expansion, new product launches, and strategic objectives. Leads feasibility and capability assessments using statistical methods; coordinates with suppliers, machine shops, plant engineering and maintenance; may negotiate approvals for customer specifications; travels domestically and internationally as needed to transfer product/process knowledge and ensure implementation of improvements across sites.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience in a related role
- Ability to solve problems and take a new perspective using existing solutions
- Ability to work independently and act as a resource for colleagues
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary
