Job Summary
Provide clerical and administrative support for the school administrative office. Responsibilities include preparing written correspondence, meeting agendas, and reports; maintaining calendars and scheduling for the principal; assisting students, teachers, and parents; managing records and files (including student records, visitor logs, and inventory); performing routine bookkeeping tasks and cash deposits for activity accounts; handling mail and communications; maintaining confidentiality; and ensuring work is accurate, neat, and timely. Requires proficiency in typing, word processing, file maintenance, basic accounting, and organizational/interpersonal skills; ability to develop spreadsheets, databases, and documents; and 1–3 years of secretarial experience in education preferred. Education: high school diploma or GED with MISD paraprofessional test completion. Supervisory responsibilities: none. Working conditions include indoor/outdoor environments with possible noise and varied hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must successfully pass MISD paraprofessional test
- Proficient typing, word processing, and file maintenance skills
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and word documents
- One to three years of secretarial experience, preferably in public education environment
