Job Summary
Senior Actuary/Actuary in The Standard's Employee Benefits division responsible for preparing financial statements, analyzing business results, and presenting insights to senior leadership. Role involves identifying key drivers and trends, challenging analyses, and driving process improvements. Requires bachelor's degree and ASA (FSA preferred), 5–7 years actuarial experience in insurance/employee benefits, and skills in SAS/Python/C++, Excel/VBA, with GAAP/regulatory understanding. Demonstrates strong communication, leadership, and partnering with actuarial/business leaders. Remote work options available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- ASA required; Fellowship progress or FSA strongly preferred
- 5–7 years actuarial experience in employee benefits
- Experience preparing/analyzing financial statements under GAAP/statutory/tax
- Strong analytical, modeling, and communication skills
- Programming: SAS preferred; Python/C++, Power BI
- Advanced Excel with VBA/macros
- Regulatory knowledge impacting actuarial/financial reporting
