Job Summary
Senior Accounts Payable Analyst responsible for overseeing high-volume invoice processing, vendor reconciliations, and timely payments. Key duties include reviewing invoices for accuracy and compliance, managing escalated payment inquiries, matching invoices to purchase orders, ensuring month-end/year-end closings, supporting audits, and mentoring junior AP staff. Role requires advanced AP knowledge, cross-functional collaboration, and ability to generate analyses for budgeting and cash flow. Preferred qualifications include tax compliance (sales tax/1099), automation tools for AP, and certification (CAPP). Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable or related finance role
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, general ledger, and financial statements
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and accounting software
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) or similar certification
- Tax compliance experience (sales tax and 1099 reporting)
- Experience with automation tools for accounts payable processes
- ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics)
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
- Mentor/training experience guiding junior staff
