Job Summary
Senior-level accounting analyst responsible for end-to-end accounting and reporting for ~30 reinsurance agreements across 2 companies; duties include contract review, journal entries, GL reconciliation, monthly close, variance analysis, schedules for annual statements and audits, cross-functional liaison with Accounting/Actuarial/IT/Legal, and leading process improvements including system enhancements and automation. Requires Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 5-7 years of insurance accounting, advanced Excel and ERP systems experience, with a hybrid on-site in Glenview, IL and remote days.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, Accounting or Finance major preferred
- 5-7 years of insurance accounting experience
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large dataset analysis)
- Experience with ERP systems for accounting
- Ability to retrieve, analyze, and summarize high volumes of data
- Strong problem-solving skills with researching and resolving complex issues and questions from reinsurance partners
- Strong relational skills - partner and collaborate with team members and across departments
