Job Summary
Sr Accountant to join a client in the public accounting space. Fully remote role within Washington or Tennessee. Responsibilities include preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements; payroll processing; excise tax filings; and coordinating with managers/partners. Candidate will import and reconcile transactions from merchant platforms (e.g., Benevity, YourCause, Blackbaud, RunSignUp, Shopify, Square, Stripe) into QuickBooks Online; ensure tax filings are accurate and compliant; perform full accrual accounting cycles; serve as first-level client contact; collaborate to deliver timely financial reports; and utilize analytical skills with Excel and various technology platforms (ADP, BILL, BILL Spend, Transaction Pro, Fathom). Strong foundation in accrual principles and ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines is essential.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years accounting experience
- BA/BS in Accounting or related field
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
- Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation
- Experience with payroll processing and tax filings
- Familiarity with ADP, BILL, BILL Spend and related systems
- Ability to learn and integrate various software applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong time management
