Job Summary
Conduct complex accounting functions including fixed asset transactions, lease accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entry preparation in accordance with GAAP. Manage fixed asset capitalization, depreciation, and disposals while monitoring vendor payments and resolving bank file errors. Perform monthly account reconciliations, investigate financial entry inconsistencies, and provide ad-hoc analysis at management's discretion. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, four years of relevant experience, and proficiency in ERP systems like D365. Based in Houston, TX, this role supports Superior Energy Services' global oilfield operations with excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a matching 401(k).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or similar field
- 4 plus years of experience directly related to the duties & responsibilities specified
- Strong knowledge in GAAP
- Advanced Microsoft office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of ERP systems – preferably D365
- Ethical business practices
- Results oriented with the ability to see how individual tasks affect the big picture
- Accurately complete/maintain necessary reports/records in a timely and legible manner, according to applicable procedures
- Ability to detect problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid resolutions
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, peers & employees
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the Oil & Gas or Energy industry is a plus
- CPA candidate preferred
