Sr. Accountant

Job Summary
Oversee general accounting activities supporting manufacturing operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, inventory transactions, and invoice management. Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes while ensuring GAAP compliance and assisting with Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls. Prepare financial statements, government reports, and ad-hoc data for corporate and plant finance teams, and guide capital investment activities. Research accounting issues to drive process improvements and support audit requests. This role collaborates with plant controllers and operations leadership in a hybrid environment based in Hazelwood, MO, reporting to the Accounting Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of an undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university with emphasis in Accounting
- 3 years of accounting experience
- Thorough working knowledge of GAAP
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to interact positively with employees at all levels of the organization regarding accounting and finance
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office applications
- Must be able to work in a team-oriented, fast paced environment
- The position operates in a hybrid work environment based in Hazelwood, MO
Desired Qualifications
- 3 years of accounting experience preferred
- Copilot experience preferred
- Experience with enterprise systems such as SAP, JDE, BPCS or other AS400 systems preferred
