Job Summary
SQL Database Administrator needed to manage and optimize SQL Server environments in a hybrid work setting in Charlotte, NC. Responsibilities include installing/configuring SQL database setups, implementing database schemas, tables, views, and data objects based on standards; adhering to Enterprise Query Standards; collaborating with application support and development teams; supporting quarterly releases; reviewing and tuning queries for scalability and efficiency using execution plans, DMVs, and third-party tools; migrating changes through development life cycle (dev, test, stage, UAT, production); reviewing SQL Server features and upgrades; creating and maintaining database diagrams and operation documentation. Requires hands-on experience with MS SQL Server, Always On Availability Groups, T-SQL, PowerShell, query tuning, and data warehousing concepts. The role offers hybrid work arrangements in Charlotte, with a salary range of $92,000–$102,000 annually, benefits, and opportunities for professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with MS SQL Server administration or combination of education and 2-4 years of relevant experience
- Experience working with SQL server Always ON Availability Groups
- High level of knowledge and adherence to Enterprise Query Standards
- High level knowledge/Experience with T-SQL and PowerShell
- Experience evaluating SQL Queries using execution plans, DMVs, Profiler or Extended Events
- Experience with Data warehousing and Data warehousing tools is a plus
- Experience with WhereScape Red is a plus
- Flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
