Job Summary
Configure, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL databases while ensuring performance, availability, and security. Perform daily overnight ETL batch job monitoring, troubleshooting, and support, alongside backup and restore operations for disaster recovery readiness. Develop schemas, procedures, and permissions, collaborate with development teams to optimize queries, and implement security best practices. Maintain comprehensive documentation and track operational workflows. Requires 7+ years of experience with PostgreSQL, Unix shell scripting, and SQL query optimization, ideally within a telecom environment.
Required Qualifications
- 7 Years or +
- Configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases
- Ensure database performance, availability, and security
- Perform database tuning, performance monitoring, and optimization
- Backup and restore databases to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness
- Manage database access and security to ensure data privacy and protection
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues and provide technical support
- Develop and implement database schemas, tables, procedures, and permissions
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize queries and database designs
- Implement and maintain database documentation and best practices
- Stay updated with the latest PostgreSQL features, tools, and best practices
- Monitor, Support and troubleshoot daily overnight ETL batch job operations
- Tracks and reports operational workflows
- Maintains records of results and feedback
- Able to perform in high workload
- Experience with database backup, restore, and recovery procedures
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries
- Familiarity with database security practices and data privacy regulations
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
