Job Summary
SQL Database Administrator (DBA) needed to manage and optimize client databases hosted on Azure, focused on high availability through load balancing and geography-based routing across multiple sites. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining SQL Server databases in Azure; developing and managing load-balancing solutions; implementing geo-distribution routing to minimize downtime and improve user experience; ensuring disaster recovery, monitoring performance, and performing query optimization, indexing, and replication. Collaborates with development/operations to maintain scalable, high-performing databases; manages database security and compliance; conducts routine maintenance, patching, and upgrades; provides technical guidance to internal teams and clients. Requires 5+ years of SQL Server DBA experience, Azure cloud expertise, hands-on Azure services experience, routing policy knowledge, security proficiency, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA
- expertise in Azure cloud environments
- Strong understanding of SQL Server architecture and performance tuning
- experience with load balancing and geo-distributed databases
- hands-on experience with Azure services (Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Traffic Manager)
- knowledge of routing policies (weighted and geographic-based)
- experience with database security (encryption, authentication, authorization)
- familiarity with automation and DevOps processes for database management
