Job Summary
Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server database systems while monitoring performance and optimizing queries for efficiency. Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies, manage user access and security permissions, and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability. Apply patches and updates for system stability and collaborate with developers to improve database integration. Plan for future database expansion and scalability, utilizing scripting languages like PowerShell or Python as needed. This role supports business operations and development teams within the Bengaluru team, focusing on modernizing global connectivity for media and entertainment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Proven experience as a SQL DBA
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server architecture, database management, and performance tuning
- Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (Azure SQL, AWS RDS)
- Knowledge of database security best practices
