Job Summary
Supplier Quality Development Engineer (SQDE) Electronics at Magna Powertrain. Responsible for standardizing launch programs, conducting supplier audits (Capability, Run-at-Rates, Manufacturing Capability, Control Plan), monitoring supplier performance, implementing corrective actions, identifying improvements, issuing PPAPs and 8Ds, managing cost recovery with suppliers, coordinating supplier change requests, supporting new program launches and supplier localization, and providing training on supplier quality procedures (SRM, PPAP). Must maintain compliance with IATF quality management system, and travel extensively (domestic/international). Bachelor's degree in engineering and 3–10 years in supplier quality with experience in Powdered Metal and related manufacturing processes are required. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical) required
- 3–10 years of experience in Supplier Quality Development
- 6–10 years of experience in Powdered Metal
- 2–4 years of experience in Plant Operations
- Experience in commodities such as Aluminum Castings, Iron Castings, Forgings, Electronics, Stampings, Power Metal, Fasteners, Injection Molding (plus)
- Experience in Metallurgical/Metals background
- Proficient in ISO/TS16949
- Proficient in problem solving (8D, 5-Why, Drill Deep and Wide, Shainan, Six Sigma)
- Manufacturing experience in molding, stamping, assembly, rubber extrusions, plating
- Proficient in AIAG core tools: PPAP, APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, MSA and SPC
- Proficient in Word / Excel / PowerPoint
- Willingness to travel (approximately 50-80% domestic and international)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of environmental, health and safety policies
