Job Summary
M&P Intern will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to optimize materials and processes on the production floor, supporting parameter development, material/process selection, drawing reviews, and qualification-test campaigns while interacting with external vendors. The role provides hands-on, real-world experience with mentorship and opportunities to learn about other parts of the organization; housing and relocation support are offered.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
- Available to work full time for 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.
- Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for mission and vision.
- Studies focused in materials engineering or materials science (Desired).
- Experience with chemical engineering (Desired).
- Experience working with thermal protection systems (TPS) (Desired).
- Familiarity with composite materials (Desired).
- Lab experience (Desired).
- Experience in a production facility (Desired).
- Relevant internship/co-op and academic project experience (Desired).
- Co-curricular engagement (Desired).
