Job Summary
Spring 2027 Manufacturing Engineering Internship at Blue Origin. Interns work directly with engineering teams on projects across manufacturing engineering in areas like design for manufacturing, test, operations, and materials & processes to support spaceflight initiatives. The role offers hands-on, real-world experience, mentorship from managers, and participation in events to learn about other parts of the organization. Hourly compensation is $38.00. Housing and relocation support are provided. Applicants should be enrolled in a graduate degree program with at least one semester remaining, be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens, and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, plus experience or exposure to product design/manufacturing, GD&T, and DFMA. Applicants should include internship, co-curricular, and relevant project experience, as well as programming languages used, in their resume. The program emphasizes space-related engineering and invites candidates who are excited about role responsibilities even if not all desired qualifications are met.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Currently enrolled in graduate degree program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
- Available to work full time for 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.
- Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for space.
- Experience working in a product design or manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
- DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly).
- Relevant internship/co-op and academic project experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills relevant to the internship as well as leadership qualities.
- Hands-on project experience.
