Job Summary
Operate a heavy-duty asphalt distributor truck to deliver asphalt and emulsion to customers in Washington and out-of-state. Conduct pre- and post-trip safety inspections, receive daily project assignments from the dispatcher, and load asphalt/oil/emulsion into the truck. Transport loads to project sites, control distribution using the spray bar or hand wand as directed, and maintain the truck, tanker, and equipment in good working order. Maintain daily logs and complete all required paperwork (timecards, safety or equipment reports). Follow safety practices and coordinate with the dispatcher to ensure efficient and compliant operations across weather-dependent projects. May perform related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid class A state driver’s license
- Acceptable driving record
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
- 2 years class A driver experience with manual transmission
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions
- Physical ability to perform standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and walking on uneven ground
- Ability to fill truck tank using proper loading procedures and distribute material as directed
- Ability to maintain truck, tanker, and equipment in good working order
- Ability to keep daily driver’s log and monitor hours of service
- Ability to complete required paperwork including timecards and safety or equipment reports
