Job Summary
Spray Technician on the golf course maintenance team applies pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and fertilizers to greens, tees, and fairways following label instructions and safety regulations; monitors turf health and coordinates with the Superintendent; operates and calibrates spray equipment; maintains records of chemical applications; handles, stores, and disposes of chemicals safely; communicates conditions and plans with the Superintendent and team; supervises employees as assigned; must obtain a state pesticide license within 3-6 months; requires knowledge of turfgrass management, safety regulations, and environmental considerations; physical demands include exposure to outdoor conditions and safety hazards.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in turf management or a related field
- Ability to obtain a state pesticide license within 3-6 months
- Knowledge of turfgrass management, diseases, pests, and nutrient requirements
- Ability to understand chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and best practices for pesticide application
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Stand/walk/sit/talk/hear/use hands/climb/reach/lift up to 50 lbs
