Job Summary
Move loads around the truck yard, back up trailers to dock doors, and verify loads for accuracy. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles, ensuring loads match paperwork before departure. Utilize material handling equipment to stage materials and load trucks, while receiving raw materials and verifying incoming items against shipping documents. Maintain records of received goods and apply department policies to resolve operational concerns. Effectively communicate with customers and suppliers, coordinate resource utilization, and assist management with training and safety initiatives. Comply with all federal, state, and company safety regulations, including OSHA standards and personal protective equipment requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Good customer service & teamwork skills
- Good physical condition; must be able to get in and out of trucks several times per day
- Able to work in all types of environments, including inclement weather
- Good backing skills
- Recent verifiable, driving experience or related
- Prior to employment, able to pass a drug screen, criminal background check
- Available for any shift and weekends as needed
- Willing to have a baseline audiometric test
- Prefer high school graduates or GEDs
- Ability to lift to 55 lbs. overhead loading product onto trailers
- Ability to get on and off company equipment, forklift, to load and unload assigned trailers and move product throughout production site
- Ability to walk, stand, crouch and climb to perform duties
- Use of hands and fingers to perform job function
- Vision: 20/20 corrected and normal hearing range
- Ability to wear company required personal protective equipment; safety glasses, hardhat, earplugs, gloves, and any other necessary item based on assigned task
