Job Summary
Operate spot welding machines and perform assigned tasks in a manufacturing and fabrication environment while adhering to all Life-Saving Rules, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and machine guarding requirements. Assist with training on facility equipment and learn additional duties as directed by supervisors or trainers. Maintain safety, quality, and housekeeping standards while complying with Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) policies and corporate procedures. Report to the Plant Manager at Atkore's North York facility, working full-time hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Ability to reliably commute to the plant on a daily basis
- Availability to work full-time and all assigned shifts
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing and fabrication environment
- Ability to stand and perform physical work for extended periods throughout the workday
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards, with a focus on maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
- Positive, professional, and self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Demonstrated willingness and enthusiasm to learn and continuously develop skills within a manufacturing setting
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Spot welding experience is considered an asset
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives will be considered an asset
