Job Summary
Spot Welder II performs journey-level spot-welding on varied material types and gages, producing quality MIG and TIG welds in different positions. Responsibilities include following verbal/written job instructions, adjusting the spot-weld controller, following Vander-Bend Manufacturing spot-weld setup process, designing/fabricating/maintaining spot-weld fixtures, maintaining spot-weld tooling, creating setup sheets and forwarding to the Weld Lead, and maintaining a safe, organized work area. The role requires basic sheet metal operations knowledge, ability to read blueprints, and the capacity to perform efficient setups with attention to quality. The position is full-time temporary and located in San Jose, CA.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED Equivalent
- 2+ years of sheet metal experience with at least 1 year of spot-welding experience
- Ability to read and understand written documents
- Basic arithmetic
- Read and comprehend basic blueprints
- Ability to perform complex set-ups
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
