Job Summary
Oversee the Crafton Sportsman Complex program by implementing staff training, managing schedules, and providing periodic written performance evaluations for direct reports. Operate, manage, and instruct on the indoor simulation range while coaching firearm techniques, presenting to groups of 20-40 participants to transfer knowledge on Range and Target Activities, Firearm Safety, Wildlife Management, and Hunter Education. Assist in the startup, shutdown, and maintenance of Skills Center facilities, model the Scout Oath and Law, and maintain a clean, safe work area. Work 45-55 hours daily with physical requirements to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours, lifting up to 50 pounds. Complete annual health records and wear the Summit Staff Uniform.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
- Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
Desired Qualifications
- NRA Instructor (Rifle/Shotgun)
- USA Archery Level 2 Instructor / Trainer (training provided)
- Knowledge and/or experience in hunting, hunting laws, conservation, wildlife agencies (training provided)
- Computer literacy and ability to use MS Office presentation software
- High emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)
- Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focus
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skills
- Ability to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
